Julian Assange takes a walk

CNN coming out grey in the white wash for the second time this week. In the above video they are seen getting a smack on the nose from bond villain candidate Julian Assange. While the level headed way he deals with the nonsense questions from the “reporter” that CNN pulled off a coffee run is commendable, the right and wrong of this is a tricky one to call for several reasons.

Annihilation of burn-a-koran-day pastor

Step by step, point by point, pastor Terry Jones’ double standards on religious freedom and interpretaion of holy books is picked apart by Sirius XMs Michelangelo Signorile. However exciting the “pwnage” is, this clip shows what is what is most needed in the current reevaluation of deeply held religious beliefs.
If all we had, were the individual theists debating with the atheists, they could keep spouting whatever logical fallacies suit their internally consistant narratives. However, as soon as you make them justify their own beliefs in the market place of ideas where competing ideologies all use the same twisted logic, the paucity of their beliefs is laid bare.
We dont need endless infuriating debates with believers. We need to get them to debate each other and reveal the endless overlaps that weaken their positon. Nothing else will show that the only world view that is cohesive and useful, always has been, always will be and indeed has to be, non-belief in the un-proveable. Its not a matter of belief or faith. Its a matter of reality.

Hitch still has the spark

Oh, I’ve heard from, I mean, it’s been embarrassing, actually, how many people have written to me, or in default of that, or as well as that, written about me, either on the web or in print. It’s, I feel you know, when Mark Twain was pronounced dead in the newspapers, he said rumors of his death had been greatly exaggerated. I read so many nice things about myself now I begin to think that rumors of my life have been a bit exaggerated.

UPDATE:

Will I really not live to see my children married? To watch the World Trade Center rise again? To read—if not indeed write—the obituaries of elderly villains like Henry Kissinger and Joseph Ratzinger?
